BUILDING COMMUNITIES, CHANGING LIVES

Bridges Out of poverty is not a program, but a collaboration, strategy, framework, tool, initiative, and set of concepts to help individuals better understand poverty and individuals in poverty.

Poverty is defined as the extent to which an individual does without resources.  Bridges Out of Poverty helps agencies, businesses, and organizations learn how to interact, retain, and effectively reach individuals who are on the lower rungs of the economic ladder. This information is truly an “aha” moment, putting words to things that take place daily in our county.

The goal of this initiative is to become a “Bridges Community”, where all sectors, races, political persuasions, and individuals come together to stabilize our Summit County community. This requires businesses, courts, social services agencies, faith based, education, and health care to come together and implement Bridges Out of Poverty in their own settings. This is already happening across the country and in Ohio, and we are confident this same work can take place in Summit County.
